Went aborad the Thomaston in January 75 at Subic Bay as a PN1 (COMMAND CAREER COUNSELOR). Made Chief onboard in October 1976. Initiated on the way from Subic to Pearl Harbor. Contracted Hepatitis and had to go straight from the ship to Balboa upon arrival in San Diego. I remember loading cars and going to San Francisco, not knowing were we were going to go into the shipyard. Fortunately it was Seattle. Had many good times there until my departure in January 1978. T
